Your Feet may learn the steps

BUT

your Soul learns to Dance

What we get up to on our dancing nights

We dance two nights a week at the club.  Both nights are very different and each has its own special atmosphere.

Wednesday is a learning night and is programmed early in the evening following the lessons for those starting to learn dancing.  After the lessons I work through the lesson dances previously learnt plus repeat the current lesson a few times.  After this I progress to the remainder of the dances available and often do a few requests towards the end of the night

Saturday night has an hour of request time at the beginning of the evening,  Following that I play a programme of 50% sequence dances, both new vogue and old time, 25% modern and 25% Latin. Saturday seems to have a more formal atmosphere and we often have visitors popping in from up the coast, from other states or old friends who have moved away but come back to catch up with friends.  The crowd at both nights are very friendly, and make visitors welcome.  I am very proud of the way people are so happy to share their dancing pleasure with others at Rooty Hill.  After nineteen years we have a very close knit and friendly group of people who dance with us.

I hope you take the time to come to the club for some dancing, I certainly enjoy it and trust all those who come regularly do as well.

Wednesday Night is lesson night (during school terms) plus a social dance.

Saturday Night is social night.

Where?  Rooty Hill RSL Club,  Sherbrook Street, Rooty Hill.

How much?  Each night costs $4.00 for members and $6.00 for Visitors.  It is definitely an advantage to be a member if regularly attending the dances.

                                          8pm - 11pm social with the early part of the evening for practise of lesson dances

                   Saturday      7:00 pm until 8:00 pm - Request Time;

                                         8:00 pm onwards a set program including Modern, Latin, Old-time and New Vogue.

                                        The mix is roughly 25% Modern, 25% Latin and 50% Sequence (old time & new vogue).

Dance Class - go to the Dance Lessons page for a list of all of the dance classes for this term

                I am also available to run special events provided they are not on a Saturday or Wednesday night.  I am happy to accommodate special themes, venues or occasions.  Please contact me to discuss if you have a special request for a function.
